Scottish Countryside
today we went on an excursion to a place where you can see the Isle of Skye. The road there reminded us of America more than any other place in Europe so far. There were lot's of mountains and we even saw some deer! the road we took went to a little village called Applecross which is on the west coast of Scotland. We stopped and had lunch there and then headed on to our little B&B.

Edinburgh Castle
On Monday, we went to see Edinburgh Castle which is still being used by Scotland's military. We took a short tour and ducked into a few buildings. One of the buildings had a sword, crown and scepter in it which are know as the Honors of Scotland. After leaving the castle, we sis a little shopping and then drove to our B&B in Ptilochry.

York
York Minster: A Gothic church built on top of a Norman church which was built over a Roman ruin. The museum in the basement shows the layers of history from Roman times. Reference was made to the Roman Ninth Legion. We remember reading the book "Eagle Of the Ninth".
